 Which of us didn’t heard  about gangsters?  Everybody? I think so. We’ve been known them from books, newspapers, movies, computer games, music clips. Gangster, gangsta, gang, gangsta rap and mafia for sure – tags, that we use and that are used by others. I think that gangsters are the next symbolise of pop culture. Characters like “Scarface”, Don Corleone, Donnie Brasco are symbols of cinematography. I shoot – most of people in the Earth even one heard about gangster.

1.Because they are bad.

They’re total bad. They in the dregs of society – Tony Montana – immigrant from Cuba, Jacques Mesrine – soldier from War in Algeria. . They haven’t any scruples – they kill you if you harm them They are bad because society makes them bad, like in “Goodfellas” or in “Angel with dirty faces”. Everything begun on street. Pathology, no education, drugs, but ambitious and intelligent to make something enterprising like in “ Once upon time in America” – one of my favourite. The way is simple – money in cash. How to get money? From holds-up, drug dealing, prohibition, prostitution, killing, extorting protection money. They are free and they do what they want. Jacques Mesrine was in Canada, America, England. They “worked” in all these countries. Tony Montana imported cocaine from Bolivia. Solozzo imported opium from Sicily. Gangsters are swearing, cursing, I love dialogs in “Pulp Fiction” between Jules and Vincent, I love dialogs in Pulp Fiction and “Reservoir Dogs” at all. Gangsters are crazy, angry, and thirsty of money and fame – they want to be celebrities!

2.Because they are rich – the world is yours!

Yes, they have money, a lot of money. They live in luxury – luxurious houses(Tony Montana’s house or Corleone’s house in Nevada). They are driving great cars – Mesrine had BMW e28 528i, Montana is buying Porsche 928, Donnie Brasco had Cadillac deville, Tony Soprano had Cadilac Escalade. They have everything what is the best – clothes (Some Rodstein in “Casino”), gold watches (Rolex), yachts, airplanes. They have also beatiful woman (Ginger McKenna in “Casino”, Sylvie Jeanjacquot in “Public Enemy number one vol.2”, Elvira Hancock in “Scarface”. )

3.Because they have power.

They decide about life and death. They are bosses of their dirty business. Gangsters use their money to do politics. They bribe politics to use them for their own purpose. Sometimes are people from political life, for example lawyer David Kleinfeld from Carlito’s Way or senator Pat Geary (“The Godfather: Part II”).Their decide who will be in the government(Boardwalk Empire) .Sometimes I think that politics are gangsters, really and probably I am right. Gangster do also legal business.

Don’t you know what is Mafia? Read about it on Wikipedia. The legend of Mafia movies, that everybody know is exactly “The Godfather”. Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall…directed by Francis Ford Coppola is my favourite movie ever! Everyone who watched “The Godfather”. If you don’t watch it do it now. “The Godfather” is sentence of life. Another movies about Mafia - “Casino”, “Goodfellas”, “Donnie Brasco”. I also love “The Sopranos” and I’m starting to watch “Boardwalk Empire”.

Playing gangster is not simple. You must have gangster soul, you must be great actor. In my opinion the best are Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Joe Pesci and Cassel Richet.

And now the best. I know that you love gangster movies, gangsters like Tony Montana, Mafioso like Vito Corleone are your idols. They’re great, awesome movies which I love to watch. They are masterpiece of cinematography. But these are commercial products. You must love them, because they must earn money.

Did you saw "Gomorra"? About Camorra, mafia from Neapol. It’s hard story. It’s not commercial story made for money. Gangsters are real gangster, real slums, real pathology. Everything in this movie is real. The story is based on Robert Saviano’s book. It’s about real life in which live real people. It’s drama. Watching it is not entertainment with beer and crisps. Watching it is challenge for you – are you enough resistant to eat this piece of truth? Try. Be ambitious. Be brave. Feel how the truth hearts you.

The next movie which I recommend is "Crips and Bloods: Made in America". This is movie for everyone who is exciting gangsta rap, who is calling own friends “nigga” and don't know from where it came.

The last which I recommend is “Animal Kingdom”. This is the story of a boy which his life was almost destroyed because of his gangster, horrible family.

Gangsters world became famous in our world. For other is “cool”, for me is something which has a value. When I watch gangster movies I see the stories about life, friendship, love, honor, money,  about people’ drama. I see history of a human life. I see problems about human life. I see questions about human being. In my opinion gangster movies are the most reliable to reflect of our life.
